Wow what a nice flick.Only 1 line i can say aftr seeing the movie tht "Aamir bhai has done again"...n also forced me to comeback on my blog...as i was also waiting 4 a gud movie 4 my comeback aftr little bit busy life in placements n all....bt no one was able to do tht...except Chak De India bt that was released whn i was busy..not able to see tht ontime because of placements interviews.I would not make the mistake of comparing this movie with RDB or Chak De India, since all three movies belong to an entire different genre. Bt I must say tht Best Movie of this year is none other thn Taare Zameen Par.Music is also good soothing to ear . I like all the songs. bt "Meri Maa" n "Mera Jahan" n "Kholo kholo" are one of my fav.

If you want to know how good Taare is, just go to your nearest theater and watch the people coming out after the show.U will see tht the thing which surrounds a crowd exiting a theater will be missing. Some of them would be walking in slow motion. Some of them looks astonished. At least that’s what happened in the theater I went to. Not a single soul was talking after the movie, probably because what everyone saw on screen was not fiction, but a semi-biography of his/her own life. In fact,I left the theater in pin drop silence. The first thing i said to 1 who is near to me is - ‘Aamir Bhai has done it again.’

Indeed, Aamir Khan had done it again. I have a feeling that Taare would change people like no other movie has previously done. This Movie has openend the door to others directors to think beyond the track.

I always try to write my review in a different manner n try to give my best.
..like Aamir (lolz juss kiddin)..bt really...i never get worried about who is reading or not ....or any1 is reading or not.....and also dont care tht i m writing in diff manner thn professionals used to write ,,i always write in my style n write wat i like.....i juss do it 4 my satisfaction n feel happy whn i saw sum1 is commenting on my blog..many comment i hav got from NRI persons ....whom i dont know tht gives me strenth n becomes the factor to motivate myself...credit goes to few of my frnds n these ppl who encourages me by commenting directly or indirectly.. , n i know tht every time i am learning something new with every review . . that gives me the sense of achievement like a kid whn 1st time touches the wall n u can see how much he became happy by touching it again n again. He has not done a big job , he also knows tht his family members are touching tht wall many times in a day ...bt the thing is sense of achievement. He becomes happy because he has achieved something which he had not done before n dont care about others ...this is called sense of achievement 4 tht i do write my reviews with pleasure and Aamir makes his movies.

I know only Aamir can make a film like Taare. But let us assume he did not make it (dream on!). What would the film have been like?

~*If Karan Johar made Taare*~

  • Obvious starcast:

    • Shah Rukh Khan as the arts teacher (duh duh duh!!).
    • Aryan Khan as the dyslexic child (even if he could not act for nuts).
    • Rani Mukerjee as the kid’s mom (assuming Kajol is unavailable).
    • Abhishek Bachchan as the kid’s dad.
    • Amitabh Bachchan as the school principal (who cares if the role is 4 few minutes, he can afford it).

  • It would be shot in New York to appeal to the NRI audience.
  • The story line would obviously be different. SRK would fall for the dyslexic kid’s mom. The last scene would have the mom running to the teacher rather than the kid. And again, like in so many other movies, SRK would get someone else’s girl.
  • It would have one dance number.
  • The film would be titled ‘Kuch Taare Zameen Par.’

*If Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Taare*

  • Obvious starcast:

    • Salman as the teacher.
    • Rani as the mother.
  • Of course the whole film would be shot on elaborate sets. The school would be nothing short of US university.
  • An orchestra would play every time anyone cried.
  • Slow motion, different camera angles for every scene.
  • The school uniforms would match the classroom walls even though that does not make a f***ing difference.
  • The film would cost 60 crores.

~*If Farah Khan made Taare*~

  • Obvious starcast:

    • SRK as the teacher (yawn).
  • In the original Taare, Aamir makes an entry at the interval point. In Farah’s version, SRK would be on screen on for 2.30 hrs out of the 2.45 hrs and would be introduced in the first scene itself.
  • The story would be changed to make sure the above happened. The focus of the film would be a teacher who helps a kid fight dyslexia.
  • To make it a complete entertainer, there would be a romantic angle, comedy, and action thrown in. Oh idea!! Nikumbh’s character likes another teacher and the kiddo helps him.. throw in some comedy moments there and you have romance and comedy settled. For action.. hmm.. lemme see.. oh yah, the kid gets kidnapped and the teacher fights the baddies to save him. Wow!! I’m quite an imaginative writer. I can see how Farah can write a film from scratch in two weeks straight.
  • The film posters would have a big SRK with the tiny image of the kid in the background.

~*If Rakesh Roshan made Taare*~

  • Obvious starcast:

    • Hrithik Roshan as the teacher.
  • Since Rakesh Roshan cannot think beyond science fiction these days, this film would have that too. Instead of dyslexia, the kid would have alienositis or something, a condition induced due to him witnessing an alien abduction.
  • Instead of Nikumbh being an arts teacher, he would be a physics teacher, and instead of asking kids to be creative, he would ask them to challenge the science we know.
  • In the scene where Nikumbh asks the kids to open their minds and make whatever they want outdoors, the kid Ishaan, instead of making a boat, would end up making a working spaceship prototype.
  • Nikumbh would cure the kids problem by making a full fledged version of the kid’s prototype, traveling to the alien planet, and asking them to give the kid his powers back.
  • The film would have music by Rajesh Roshan ripped off from some world music.
  • The film’s name would again start with a K.. probably ‘Kuch Aliens Taaron se Zameen Par’.
  • The director would make sure Hrithik gets to show all his abilities. This would mean a scene with Roshan jr flexing his muscles, and a dance competition in the end, instead of an arts competition.

~*If Priyadarshan made Taare:*~

  • Obvious starcast:

    • Akshay Kumar as the teacher.
    • Paresh Rawal as the kid’s dad.
  • It would be a brainless comedy. The kid’s dyslexia would be made fun of. Half the times the parents will be running after the kid from one room to the other and that, in the director’s opinion, would be funny.
  • The film will be full of sex jokes. So for example, when Akshay would come to the parents telling them that their son has dyslexia, the ignorant father would say something inappropriate like ‘iss umar mein? par kaise, woh to hamesha boys school mein padha hai!’. And yes, the director would think it is funny.
  • In the climax of the film all the characters in the film would run around in the amphitheater for no reason, spilling colors on each other. That’s where the film will end, without any logical conclusion.
  • And of course, Paresh Rawal would emote like an epileptic himself making us question the boy’s mental abilities anyway.
................................................
...................................................

I know there are a lot of other directors, but I choose these guys because I feel they are the most gutless or overrated directors we have today. They keep doing the same shit again and again and more often than not depend on the stars to carry a shitty film forward. They have no courage to try something non-nonsense, something that can use the medium of cinema for a little more than just entertainment, in spite of being the most sought after directors in the country.

The reason I am making this comparison at all is to show how Aamir (and Amol Gupte) has made a pure film, without giving into the temptation of masala or ‘what would the audience like to see’ philosophy; for giving chance to fantastic yet unknown actors like Vipin Sharma and Tisca Chopra(Parents Of Ishaan) for riding against the tide; for not trying to hog the limelight in the film by happily playing second fiddle to the boy (even Aamir Khan’s name comes after Darsheel Sarfi, the boy, in the credits); for giving the audience something different once again as an entertainer; and for truly caring about the society and using the medium to bring a change. So "Taare Zammen Per" has made other director's "Sitaare Gutter Mei" !!

I remember earlier this year SRK made a statement: ‘films are for entertainment; messages are for post offices.’ Well Aamir Khan has proved that cinema is probably the best medium for giving a message and I can say that looking at the face of every person in the cinema hall. Not only that, he has proved (yet again!) that a message can be entertaining.

Few Reasons that enhanced my liking of this movie

I remember my mama ji used to discuss with me about their kids studies. n i used to tell him always tht never force anyone to go in this or tht stream.Important thing is excellence. only teach them to maintain excellence in watever field they are . Every stream has gates for reaching success. N the same thing Aamir wants to tell by this movie.

Another thing is I am great fan of Aamir since long time because he try to give his 100% to watever he does. He can also sign 4-5 movies in a year and can earn money bt he wont use innocence of public like shahruk do. Yaar simple si baat hai...Public Likes u , public listen u , U are grt star of indian cinema thn its your moral duty tht try to give message 4 the betterment of society with ur movie. No i am not telling that every movie shld be like tht....it is not possible , bt phir bhi in other movies try to work on script n shooting ....Like Om Shanti Om is a real shit , bt shahruk ne public k trust ka galat faayda uthaya , also diwali time ka. dard-e-disco , six packs n many useless things are the cause of making hit of a shit movie . Now a days directors are working on adds more thn movie script or theme. They are using their mind tht How to make ppl fool.in present scenerio the situation is ...tht if shahruk will make a movie in which he is juss sleping thn also public will go 2 c tht n hope tht he will wake up.

Leave shahruk i hav personal problem with him...bt wat about other directors like Ram Gopal Verma , He is a real F***er. He has made Sholey Remake which is not even a 1000th part of real sholey. another thing is his three movies( Aag, Darling, one more i forgot name) are releasing at same time of same heroin n all are big shit , what is this yaar...really he is makin fool to public.

it shld not be like tht we have to change our mind setups .we shld not go in theater by name of actor or director bt we shld go 4 content, acting n theme .public has to wake up n shld promote the movies like IQBAL , DOR , Chak De , Taare Zameen per n many...

Its my personal request tht if some1 ha not watched the movie "Taare"thn plzzz go to cinema hall ,dont watch pirated version ,,warna Aamir ka nuksaan hoga...its our duty tht we shld encourage such directors so tht they can think of giving more better next time.
Anyways Aamir the director has arrived. With just one film, he has set the bar higher than most of you can only dream of reaching. So the indirect moral of TZP is "Dream Big N Dream Different". n Be committed to ur Work...you can also make a big hit..not only in case of movie,,but also in ur life.

Best to watch with: Family

dude… hilarious .. i cant stop laughing after reading what if other directors especially karan johar and priyadarshan would have made the movie…

ya i agree with u on almost every point n the end comment regarding shahrukh… its so true… n i think these masala filmmaker n so called king khan n other stars should realise one thing …. if they cant do it then stop pretending whtever they’ve done is the best n should give others the respect they deserve…

The best part of this notorious but innovative as well as intuitive commentary are the totality of points remarked towards Karan Johar making the movie, and in specific, the last point of comments regarding Priyadarshan making the movie. Its really nice to find that such an observant movie critique lives amongst us!
Thanks Yuggi for sharing. :)

A very well-written post. I really enjoyed reading it. The name “Aamir Khan” once stamped on a product, you can expect nothing but quality from it. The guy stands alone (almost) in this industry which says that they are just doing their duty by “catering to the audience what they demand”. If thats true, why are people going and watching TZP? All of them lack the guts to try something like this. It could have been only aamir khan to take a plunge and make TZP as a mainstream cinema.

I think you missed the most overrated of all directors…

Ram Gopal Varma.

He would have painted all the characters face with weird make-up,
would have had an Urmilla Matondkar item song, would have given the role of mom to Nisha Kothari…

..you fill the rest!but i must say
Extremely well written piece. Laughed my guts out. Saw TZP. A gem of a movie far beyond the capabilities of the said directors.

Ah..its gud 1..nice observation n thinkin abt RGV's style...I hav written lil bit already in review abt Ram Gopal Verma , He is a real F***er,, can say one of the grt faltu directors without common sense ..thts y i hv removed him frm this list. He has made Sholey Remake(Aag) which is not even a 1000th part of real sholey. another thing is his three movies( Aag, Darling, one more i forgot name..i think "Go") are releasing at same time of same heroin n all are big shit , what is this yaar...really he is makin fool to public.n making money with heroins exposure only!!
nyways thnx to all 4 commenting n reading!!

srry 4 bein late..waise i hv only written abt overrated directors...neway..it can be a gud idea to think abt Bhatt Camp..lemmme try...

i think if any 1 from the Bhatt camp made Taare Zameen Par thn..

1. Emran Hashmi will play the role of the arts teacher..(lol)
2. John Abraham and Udita Goswami will be the parents of the kid.

3. Emran Hashmi will have an extra marital affair with the kids mother (Udita)
4. There will be 42 kissing scenes, one even involving the kid which will make the movie more controversial.
5. John Abraham will have an underworld connection.
6. In the climax John will get shot and die.
7. The kid will get a shock and his dyslexia will be cured.
8. The title of the movie will be “Taare Zameen Par: Do jism ki kahani”......
..............
let me know if ny1 hv any new idea...lol

You have a very nice blog. You have really talent for this! Seriously! :)

What you have written there about different directors directing Taare, has actually been sent around the world as a chain-email! No kidding!

Good work, man! I found your other topics entertaining and interesting as well! Keep up the good work.
